Landry's 1st Birthday!

We celebrated your 1st birthday after coming home from work/daycare on Friday evening with Grandpa and Grandma Matthes, Roo, and Kilah. They all came over to help us finish getting ready for your big party. The major project of the evening was decorating your smash cake, and I was so glad that Grandpa was there because he was more than willing to help do it for me. That saved me a lot of stress, and it looked a lot better than if I would have done it myself. We also put the finishing touches on decorations (read: Kilah made tulle balls and both aunts finished your high chair tutu).

Picture of the Peanut at the exact time of day she was born
(4:56 pm) with a celebratory clap.

Decorating the smash cake!

Adding just the right amount of glitter.

Hanging the adorable tulle balls she made.

Birthday bath at ONE YEAR OLD!

It has been a great first year with you, Sweet Girl. We have loved absolutely every minute of having you in our family...what a blessing you have been. We thank God every day for you. Looking forward to many more celebrations with you!!

***Baby #2: 21 Week Ultrasound & Appt

While we were back home for Thanksgiving, we got to have a quick peek of babe while Grandpa made rounds. Everything looked great, and heart rate was 144. Babe actually measures big, and according to that ultrasound our due date is 4/4/14 (but it won't change). We saw it yawn a couple times, and stick it's tongue out. Pretty stinkin' cute. Here are pictures from that ultrasound.

**Pictures to come shortly.

On Monday, December 2 we had our official ultrasound and 21 week appointment. Again everything looked great anatomically and developmentally, and heart rate was 155. Blood pressure was good and no sugar or protein in my urine. Babe is breach and had its' hands by its' head the whole time. We were joking around with our doctor and asked what his vote was for gender since we aren't finding out, and he said girl. I always love hearing what people think it is. It has been SO fun not knowing! Here are pictures of Babe #2 from that ultrasound:

Placenta is definitely anterior again.

Would not move it's hands away from it's head so we could get
a better 3D picture of it :(

We think you are pretty special, Little One. Cannot
wait to meet you in just a few months!!

Baby #2: 21 Weeks

One of these weeks I will get another update. Until then, another belly bump at 21 weeks!

Going to See Grandma

On our way back home from Thanksgiving, we stopped at the cemetery to take you to Grandma's grave for the first time. The pain is ever so real and we miss her every single day, and taking you there felt like the closest thing to meeting her that we could come. And it was so very hard. I always thought of the day when I would have to take my children there, and it finally came. I am comforted knowing that Grandma is in Heaven rejoicing with Jesus, but I felt like we needed to take you there. I debated about posting these pictures, but decided they were too special to me not to.

Miss Landry, my heart hurts that you were not able to meet the incredible woman that was your Grandma, but I do know that she has the best seat of all in Heaven. She would just think you are the sweetest thing ever. She is smiling down on you every single day. I am positive of that. And I will tell you stories about her and you will know the woman that she was all the days of your life.

Miss you with every ounce of my being, Mama.

Thanksgiving 2013

For Thanksgiving, we left Wednesday afternoon and headed back to Cambridge for a long weekend. Aunt Kilah rode back with us, and we were thankful to have someone along to help entertain you. You slept 2 of the 3 hours and the last hour we all sang to you to get you through. We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year, and snapped a few Christmas photos that day too.

Little miss piggy ate, and she ate, and she ate. You were still
eating long after everyone else was done. I swear you gained
at least a couple pounds over the weekend!!

Love this face!

Great Grandma just loves you
to death. She wants to get her
hands on you every chance she gets!

Grandpa's Standing Boot Camp.

You were loving Travis that night...he was throwing the entire deck of
cards on you and you were CRACKING up. Hilarious!

And then a picture before the annual coon hunt. Second year
in a row they have had to find me oversize coveralls. Next
year there will not be a baby sharing space :)

Another reason you maybe gained 2 pounds, Grandpa and Grandma
fed you pancakes every morning when you woke up. And you
LOVED every bite of it!

Grandpa wanted to see if you would
fit in the doll highchair, and sure enough
you did!

Helping Kilah and Roo put up Grandma's
Christmas tree.

The aunts busy making your tutus for your upcoming
birthday party.

Just love this picture of you.

....And this one. One of my favorites of all time.

Trying on your tutu the aunts made you, and the scarf
that Kilah made you over the weekend. Pretty cute! :)

And you LOVED bathtime in Grandpa and Grandpa's huge tub.

Getting ready to go to church. Not impressed.

Quick photo for Grandma's Christmas cards before we left to come home.

Melts my heart. So very special, he is.
On Friday, Mommy ended up getting to help Grandpa with a C-section (another story for another time, but discovered that assisting my dad was indeed on my bucket list), and then we all went to McCook for the annual ornament shopping with Grandma Deaver. We went to the Copper Mill for happy hour and dinner, and then came home to a fun night of Boggle. What a great trip.

Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday and we had such a great weekend being back for an extended amount of time. I look forward to that weekend all year. Thankful to have such a great, relaxing holiday with family. And already looking forward to next year!
