Three.Months.Old

Three Months Old!!

At THREE months, you:

Eat 3-4 ounces every 3-5 hours (ish) - you are not a very good eater
Are still not on any sort of a schedule
Are a whole new, happy baby since going to the chiropractor
Started daycare on February 11 and did very well
Still sleep in your carseat in our room
Weighed 9 lbs 4.4 oz on Feb 22nd
Have slept for 8 hours twice, and 7 hours a handful of times
Absolutely LOVE your bath
Got your first cold after 1 week at daycare
Love to sit in the bumbo
Think the big clock in the living room is very funny
Smile back at us when we smile at you
Are not a fan of being put down - you'd rather be held all.day.long
Are very inquisitive - we joke that your "head is always on a swivel"
Started wearing Size 1 diapers at about 10 weeks old

Prom Dress Shopping

In the middle of February, we went to Omaha and shopped for Kilah's last prom dress. Landry was such a good girl and really enjoyed riding in the stroller and looking around at everything in the mall. It is obvious that girlfriend loves to shop already ;)

The one.
Grandpa had Baby Duty.

Giving the babe a bath after a long day of shopping.

The next morning before church Grandpa thought that Little Missy
needed another bath since she had so much fun the night before.

Needless to say, she loved it again!

Grandpa and Grandma with the ears slicked back :)
Course we had to have the curl to go to church.
Love those lashes!

Girl does love her Aunt Roo.

Such a sweet, sweet girl.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Every day, this sweet girl gets a hundred kisses from Mommy. Those cheeks and her sweet baby skin are just so hard to resist and when she cries she gets a hundred kisses. It has become our thing in the mornings.

So on Valentine's Day, it only seemed appropriate to take a picture with a few of the many kisses she got that day. She wasn't in the mood for hamming it up just yet, but we take what we can get these days! Here are a few outtakes :)

Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma Deaver, for the very cute bear!

Two.Months.Old

 Two Months Old!

Sweet Baby Girl - 2 months already! Month 2 has been challenging. Weeks 1 through 6 were difficult, but from everything everyone had always told me about being a first time mom, we just had to get through the first 6 weeks and then things would turn around. The first 6 weeks were somewhat of a blur.

And then there was week 7...oh, there was week 7. You began to challenge us to a whole new degree. You found out that your lungs worked, and that they worked very, very well. Your lungs had stamina that we didn't know could be contained in such a tiny little package. For some reason, everyday anywhere in between 11 am to 4 pm were the worst for your crying spells...not the typical "colic."

At the end of week 7, we were at our limit and called to get you in to the doctor just to make sure there wasn't something like an ear infection brewing that we were missing. I was fairly confident that it wasn't an infection of any sort because you weren't running a fever and just didn't act "sick." You were just very fussy. You still had a good appetite, but feeding was a challenge. A few gulps into a bottle and you cried like you were in lots of pain. It was a struggle for all of us. The doctor confirmed that you did not have an ear infection or any other identifiable cause of the fussiness, so we labeled you a reflux baby. She switched us from Zantac (which didn't seem to be helping) to omeprazole.

Week 8 was not much better. Up until week 8, I was pretty sure that everyone thought I was joking about how difficult you were because by the time people were off work for the day you were done with your fussiness and mostly slept. Everyone commented on how good of a baby you were. Daddy got off work early one day and came home in the middle of an afternoon spell and from then on I think he had a good idea what I was talking about.

After 2 weeks of you being completely miserable, we decided after much consideration that we were going to give the chiropractor a try. I did lots of research and talked to a lot of people whom the chiropractor had basically cured their babies, and at that point, I wanted to do whatever we could to try to make you feel better. Thankfully, we discovered that they don't do any cracking of joints and only use light pressure over the areas for the adjustments. After you had your 2 month check and 3 immunizations, we took you to your first chiropractor appointment where she demonstrated everything she was going to do to you on us first and did just a few adjustments. You came home, ate, and slept hard for a good 4 hours. You woke up with a diaper blow out and a terrible screaming fit that lasted just shy of 2 hours and after a little tylenol you finally fell asleep. You got up twice to eat during the night but then went back to sleep relatively quickly. The next day, you were a whole new baby. You woke to eat, would nap, and would even tolerate laying by yourself for awhile while you layed there awake and entertained yourself. This was something that you didn't do a whole lot of before. We went back to the chiropractor again where she did more adjustments. You threw a screaming fit on the way home and ended up blowing out your diaper again just as we walked in the door. (At this point, I'm beginning to wonder if this has something to do with the adjustments or not? It will be interesting to see!)

At TWO months, you:

Are 21 3/8 inches long (10th percentile)
Weigh 9 pounds, 6 ounces (10-25th percentile)
Are in the 75th percentile for head circumference (15 3/8")
Can hold your head at 90 degrees
Recognize Mommy and Daddy's voices
Strongly prefer to turn head to right, even when sleeping
Eat about 3 ounces every 3-5 hours
Are getting close to outgrowing newborn diapers
Blow bubbles
Smiled for the 1st time on January 18th (6 weeks & 1 day)

2 Month Check-Up

Just bein' a ham in the bath - found a perfect footrest :)

Sweet Girl with Grandma Deaver.

She's going to be upset with me about this one - but watching
these 2 sleep is about the cutest thing you'll ever see.
Not real sure who enjoys it more. Pretty spoiled!
Gotta love it!

Daddy's Niners Girl

While at work on the day of the Super Bowl, I received a text from Daddy with this picture:

Someone shouldn't leave those two alone on Super Bowl Sunday.

Someone also should not make fun of me for liking to play dress up with our daughter!

And of course a picture of the 2 together....

Pretty cute, Little Missy! We sure do love you!
