Just got back from a weekend at home in Cambridge while Dan golfed in a tournament with my dad, then went to Aurora for 4 days to visit family, came back and had a going away party for Dan's cousin Trevor at the horse races, went to the lake up in Fremont with friends all day Saturday, and Sunday I threw a baby shower for Dan's sister and her twins that are going to be born within the next month! It's been a crazy couple of days, and I am exhausted and ready for a good night's sleep.
A week ago my boss called and said they were planning to have me start working on Monday, June 10th and that he would call me during this last week with details. I hadn't heard from him all week so I tried calling him on Friday afternoon and I have yet to hear from him. Needless to say, unfortunately, I am not going to be starting work tomorrow as planned. I need a day of rest after this weekend, but we are getting pretty tight financially around here! This summer break is becoming quite expensive when you figure the bills we are having to pay and the money that I could be making each day right now.
Baby is about the size of a peach, and it is possible that it could be sucking it's thumb by now! (Although we do not want a thumb sucker...I will fight that!) It's intestines are starting to move from outside of the body to the inside, and the vocal cords are developing. Praying for you, Little One!
How far along? Almost 13 weeks...can't believe we are almost 1/3 of the way done already!
Total weight gain: 1 pound last I checked, but that was after a week at Grandma's :)
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but things are definitely getting more snug!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: Getting up to go to the bathroom a little less, and can even make it all the way through some nights now. Still can't get comfortable. My dad has been nagging on me to exercise more during the day to try to wear myself out more, so I walked 5 1/2 miles one day last week, and was still up at 3:30 am. The next day I did 4 and slept a little better.
Best moment this week: Got to spend 4 days in Aurora with family while Dan did one of the west routes from Aurora, quite possibly my last longer "vacation" to Grandma and Grandpa's without a baby in tow.
Miss anything? WINE. We had a couple really late night drives this past week so I had a couple more Diet Pepsis...total of 4 throughout the first 13 weeks now. I would like to say I have completely given it up, but 3 of the 4 have been very small and much needed.
Movement: Not for a few more weeks!
Food cravings: Carbs, but nothing terrible.
Anything
making you queasy or sick: The thought of eggs makes my stomach churn, but I've still been able to eat them
Gender: I
think Boy
Labor Signs: N/A
Symptoms: I really cannot complain one bit. I seriously have had the best pregnancy I could have ever dreamed of having so far. The main thing this past week was the onset of heartburn. It's pretty much been all day every day and all night long and it doesn't make any difference what I eat. Exhausted, but it has been a crazy weekend. Starting to feel pregnant finally, but for now my belly looks like I have been eating too many brownies (which may or may not be true) and nothing like a baby belly. Quite a bit of bloating, to the point that I have looked like I'm many months farther along than I am.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or
off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy,
and content.
Looking forward to: Feeling baby move in a few weeks!
We are hoping to get another peek at Baby this weekend. I am so looking forward to seeing how much the little peanut has changed in the past 3 weeks. Daddy continues to call baby "shrimp" so I'm hopeful that we will just find out that the tech at my appointment measured wrong and we are all caught up. He has even been generously sacrificing food saying that "he wants shrimp to have it." Goodness, I really doubt that our baby will turn out to be a real shrimp. I was 8 pounds and Dan was 8 1/2 pounds when we were born. Chances are, we are not going to have a small child.
I will also be back the end of the week with a 3 month picture of the belly, since we might finally have proof that this a real pregnancy and not just Kait-loves-brownies-too-much, although it is still debateable.
Love and prayers in week 13!
Aww I love it! So wish I would have started my blog when I was preggers with Kayden! What a great keepsake for baby! Glad you are feeling good!
