Fourth of July Weekend Festivities

Mommy had a four day weekend since the 4th fell on a Thursday, so you and I got to spend lots of time together!

On Fourth of July Eve, we went to Milford to John and Anika's for a get-together. We got to catch up with friends that we don't see nearly enough anymore.

Lovin' on Grandma Sandy.

This girl was fussy all night until she got into
TJ's arms and was willing to just hang out.
He has always had that effect on her. Adorable.

On the Fourth we rested in the morning and then went out to Hank and Jenny's for an evening with the Piening side of the family. We had a great evening relaxing and then fireworks as soon as it got dark. You, however, were not a fan of the fireworks just as we had expected you wouldn't be.

Smiling despite tears in your eyes from the first loud bang. Poor
little thing didn't know what to think. We had to leave
soon after and took you home to a rattling house from all of the town
fireworks but it didn't phase you even a little. Slept a good 10 hours!

Friday you and I went shopping for a couple things for Daddy and then we went to your doctor appointment to follow up on your weight (see Seven.Month.Old post for stats). Then that evening we went to Joe and Sandy's for wings and drinks on their deck. We had such a good evening with some of our favorite people, and Joe's wings might be the best I've ever had. I joked with him that they might be my birthday meal request...I don't think he knows that I really was serious about it :)

Saturday we rested in the morning and then got ready for Trevor and Chrystina's wedding in the afternoon. After 2 solid days of being toted around and out of your regular routine, you were not in good shape by the time the reception started. You never are a crying baby, but you whined pretty much the whole time. You rubbed your eyes continuously but just couldn't give it up with the noise. You and I came home around 10:00 (surprised we made it that long), but we did get a few pictures before we had to go home.

I have to admit that I would have loved to have been able to dance and have a good time at the wedding, but I quickly reminded myself that I was only going to have you so little for such a short time so I soaked up every minute of the cuddles you gave me at the wedding. At all of the weddings I used to go to I saw little babies and couldn't wait until I had one of my own, and I was very lucky to be snuggling my own this weekend. Despite being overly tired, you were still a pretty good girl.

I thoroughly enjoyed four straight days with you. It did my mama heart good. Love you to the moon and back, Sweet Girl.
