33 Weeks Down!!

- 33 Week Baby Bump -

How far along? 33 weeks
Total weight gain: 21+ - we will see Friday at the doctor (our scale decided not to work these past few weeks)
Baby is the size of a: Durian fruit??? Approximately 4.2 to 5.8 pounds already!
Maternity clothes? Most definitely. Still wearing pre-maternity pants...anxious to see how much longer this lasts...so far so good!
Stretch marks? Still the same
Sleep: Not too bad...as long as it is cold!
Best moment this week:  Nothing too exciting this week in baby terms. I worked all weekend and Saturday went tailgating with Dan's parents and some good friends who were back for the weekend and then we all went to the game. I said I wasn't going to go tailgating or to the game and ended up doing both (thankful that I did, though!) and then proved to myself that indeed I do still have it in me to stay up until 2 a.m. despite having to work in Omaha at 10 the next morning. 4 days later and I'm still paying for that one.
Miss anything? Just having a little more energy or hips that didn't always hurt.
Movement: Some
Food cravings: Sweets! And this week I am dying to have a big diet pepsi...which I have been saving for Friday for our trip back to Cambridge when I can most enjoy it :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing particularly
Gender: Sweet baby girl :)
Baby Name: Yep!
Labor Signs: Just more braxton-hicks
Symptoms: I was starting to think that baby may have dropped this week (is that even possible this early?) because my heartburn has been terrible still, but much improved from weeks before, I am making more trips to the bathroom now BY FAR than I ever have (new record a few nights ago = 12 TRIPS), and she hasn't been in my ribs hardly at all. Surely not, but we will see. I don't think I look like I have so I'm probably just lucking out for a week. Prior to this week I had a few episodes of sciatica that came and went, but this week it has been back to stay and here with a vengence. It's definitely worse after working 12 hours and being on my feet constantly. Overall starting to feel really tired by mid-afternoon and evening. Oh yes, and more swelling in my legs (but feet not-so-much!).

Yes, those are Dan's fingerprints from before he went
to get my phone to take this picture.
And yes, I was even wearing compression
stockings!
Comments Solicited from Others: Lots of comments about how tiny my belly is.
Belly Button in or out? Flat as a board
Wedding rings on or off? Off in week 33 - had to go buy a temporary one this week :(

Happy or Moody most of the time: Ehh more happy but not entirely enthusiastic at this point. Just ready to be done and meet this little one!
Looking forward to: This week I have been super excited to go back home for our 2nd baby shower. I am so looking forward to the shower, and seeing family and good friends that I don't get to see near often enough. I have been especially missing my sisters lately so time will be well spent this weekend.

In other news, hubby never ceases to amaze me. After painting 2 coats in our bathroom last week, we both agreed that we didn't love the color and he said that we were going to do it right because it was the last time we were painting that bathroom in this house. SO, we (I helped with one, the other he had done when I got home from work again) bought another gallon a few shades darker and repainted the entire room 2 more times. We had used a semi-gloss for those coats because I was planning to use a stencil on one wall and paint over it with flat paint to make the designs, and after painting a few squares of the stencil we decided that it wasn't noticeable enough to waste our time doing it (this was with the first paint color). With the 2nd paint color we tried it again and still really couldn't see the stenciling well in the bathroom. Our next idea was to try using the flat paint of the 1st color to stencil over the 2nd color. Came home from work Saturday and he had all but the borders done "just to see what I thought of it." It's not exactly what I had in mind, but the more I look at it the more I like it. And just like my dad said when I told him the process, "I think you better keep him around." I agree, and I think I will! :) Seriously, there is nothing that that man can't do or won't try and I have to give a lot of credit to his Dad for that one. Someone once said that his dad could build a rocket if he wanted to, and how true that is. I'm thinking that with a few more years of tackling all of my honey-do's he will be a chip off the old block...he's got a running start already!

That's all for now. Love and prayers in Week 34, Little Missy!
